What Is The Difference Between A Sunroom And A Solarium?

The main difference between a sunroom and a solarium lies in the design of its windows. Both styles feature at least three walls of nothing but framed glass windows, and a solarium may have an added glass ceiling as well. A solarium should have windows that can be made energy efficient, allowing them to be heated or cooled, depending on the weather.

That said, it brings the difference between a solarium and a sunroom down to whether or not to use double paned, or single paned. Because of this feature, building a solarium is a more expensive project to create, but will save on energy costs over time. This is a plus for creating a room for year round use.
